Mechanical Rescue
The SALT Operations Control Center operates 24 hours a day at its headquarters in Noceto (PR), where it supervises and coordinates roadside assistance activities on the relevant route. The organizations authorized to intervene are: ACI Global S.p.A. (tel. 803116), Europ Assistance VAI S.p.a. (tel. 803803), and IMA Servizi S.c.a.r.l. (tel. 800613613), which operate through authorized affiliated workshops with a 24-hour service guarantee.
Roadside assistance can be requested directly from the authorized organizations or through the Operations Control Center.
It should be noted that the Concessionaire, in accordance with Ministerial Directive No. 3279 of May 24, 1999, issued by the Ministry of Public Works, which classifies roadside assistance for vehicles stopped on the carriageway, on access or exit ramps, or in the emergency lane due to breakdown or accident as an “essential public service,” as defined by the Guarantee Commission for the implementation of Law No. 146 of June 12, 1990, has determined that, in such cases, the rescue vehicle closest to the location of the incident must be activated, thus derogating from the rule of alternation and regardless of the choice made by the User.
This decision was made based on the principle that the safety of people and traffic is a primary, absolute, and indispensable good that takes precedence over all other considerations and cannot be conditioned or superseded by assessments based on other interests, however legitimate they may be.
The “roaming” principle is followed, whereby an insured person is entitled to free assistance even if, for any reason, they receive assistance from an organization other than the one to which they are affiliated.
